Oxford Carriers is seeing volumes climb across all parts of the business against pre-Covid volumes, which MD Grant Morris sees a positive indicator for the economy as a whole.
“Volumes traditionally increase towards the Easter weekend, but it is very heartening to see this tradition continue given the economic challenges the UK as faced,” says Morris.
“We’ve been expanding staff numbers, and preparing the business for both steady and sudden volume growth so that we can maintain good service levels,” he adds. “Most of our customers communicate with us ahead of time so that we can ensure we have all the resources they need – but we do know that for many of them, the order book is also unpredictable.”
Oxford Carriers is a well-established Partner of THE Pallet Network (TPN) which has also invested heavily in peak-proof performance.
“Neither we nor TPN stopped running at any time during the pandemic or Brexit,” says Morris. “We are a vital service, and we take that responsibility very seriously.
“It’s very encouraging to see local and national business pick up. Let’s hope this spring is the start of a better time for everyone.”
