Come be our Business Manager

Join one of Oxfordshire’s leading logistics providers as Business Manager. This high-level role, which has the potential for advancement into the senior management team, involves day to day management of personnel, payroll, health and safety compliance and procurement.

We’re looking for a competent and forward-thinking business manager who can run our internal management systems, making sure that we are handling staff, procurement and site issues with all the necessary efficiency and compliance.

Experience in warehousing and logistics is an advantage but not essential and we are open to candidates bringing new ideas and existing expertise from other sectors.

The salary range, dependent upon experience is £40,000 to £45,000.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

Personnel

  • Oversee and work with department managers to undertake successful recruitment.
  • Maintain starter packs, contracts of employment and induction training.
  • Maintain and review all paperless company personnel records.
  • Assist department Managers with any HR matters.
  • Oversee staff welfare, development, and training.

Payroll

  • Be responsible for and oversee Weekly/Monthly Payroll. Ensuring accurate data is provided.
  • Manage bank payments.

Health and Safety

  • Be responsible for all day-to-day H&S compliance.
  • Maintain and review all company H&S records, risk assessments and policy’s.
  • Manage staff H&S training.

Procurement

  • Setup and maintain a company procurement policy/procedures.
  • Assist department managers with procurement.
  • For major purchases provide quotes and costings to the directors.
  • Review current procurement costs and efficiency.

 

The successful candidate

The successful candidate will need to be someone who can make decisions based on commercial and business acumen. They will need to be IT literate, punctual, approachable and have a high level of drive and commitment to bring into the business.
